After the Executive Committee under the Nyantekyi led administration was dissolved in 2017 as a result of the airing of the Anas Exposé , FIFA in conjunction with the the Government of Ghana put together the Normalization Committee chaired by Dr. Kofi Amoah was instructed to run the day-to-day activities of the Ghana Football Association (GFA ) and also conduct elections for electing the new leadership of the Football Association.
The date set for the election of the new Executive Council was slated for 24th October, 2019 after the adoption of the new statutes by the football people . Per new statutes, the Executive Council would consist of twelve ( 12 ) members, with a breakdown of one ( 1 ) representative for women's elite clubs , five ( 5 ) representatives for premier league clubs, two ( 2 ) representatives for the Regional Football Associations ( RFAs ) with the newly elected president being the chairman.
After the election , Madam Habiba Atta Forson was elected to represent the women's elite clubs with eight ( 8 ) votes. For the two ( 2 ) RFA slots , Mr. Linford Asamoah was elected with fourteen ( 14 ) votes , and a tie of three ( 3 ) votes between Robert Duncan and Salifu Zida. In accordance with Article 30.8 , a tie - breaker will be held at Friday's Extraordinary Congress. The three ( 3 ) division one league slots were keenly contested with Ransford Abby being elected with twenty - six ( 26 ) votes , Mark Addo with twenty - five ( 25 ) votes and Samuel Anim Addo with nineteen ( 19 ) votes . Renowned names like Alhaji Karim Ahmed Grusah , Fosu Gideon , Ayiah Kwaku , Boison Justice and Eric Yeboah Oppong all could not make it onto the council. Frederick Acheampong with eleven ( 11 ) votes , Tony Aubynn with fourteen ( 14 ) , George Amoako with ten ( 10 ) votes , Oduro Sarfo with nine ( 9 ) votes and Osei - Bonsu Kingsley amassing ten ( 10 ) votes were all elected on the tickets of the Premier League clubs.
This is how the new Executive Council would look like ; Ransford Abby, Mark Addo , Samuel Anim Addo , Frederick Acheampong , Tony Aubynn , Oduro Sarfo, George Amoako , Kingsley Osei - Bonsu , Linford Asamoah and Madam Habiba Atta. The tie - breaker to be decided on Friday , 25th October , 2019.
